Is It Ever Ok to Take Your Kids Out of School for a Holiday? | Loose Women

Last year saw a record 350,000 parents in England fined for taking their kids on holiday during term-times - and next month these fines are set to increase to £60 to £80 per parent under the new Labour government. But with parents now paying up to 16 times more for holidays outside of school terms, do our panel think schools should be more lenient regarding authorised absences? Brenda doesn’t see the problem with kids being sent their school and homework abroad, and thinks holiday companies need to be stopped from hiking prices.  Whereas Katie thinks something like this could snowball and see too many kids away from the classroom.
