MEANING OF COLONIALISM
The practice by which a powerful country controls another country or countries, in order to become richer.

CHANGING FORTUNES OF CITIES
The Presidency cities like- Calcutta, Bombay and Madras became a very important and devoted family during British rule.

TALE OF A CAPITAL CITY: DELHI
Delhi has been the capital of several empires in history.
It was built near the river Yamuna.

MUGHAL CAPITAL- SHAHJANABAD
Shahjanabad, the seventeenth century City of Delhi, was built by Shah Jahan between 1639 and 1648.

DELHI : BEFORE AND AFTER THE REVOLT OF 1857
Though Delhi became a part of the British Empire in 1803, Calcutta continued to be the Imperial capital.
