Standing on the Nyakas-kő rock, you can feel like the whole world is yours!
The Nyakas-kő trail leads to the rock, which was named after its characteristic shape, and the length is only 1.9 km, with a difference in altitude of only 90 meters.
The top of the flat rock offers an amazing view of the surrounding settlements, so it is definitely worth exploring the excursion site on a sunny, clear day.

The southern viaduct of the Füzes stream was blown up in September 1931 by the crazy Viennese merchant and industrialist Szilveszter Matuska with a bomb he had built himself. The attack claimed 22 lives and injured 17 others on the express train from Budapest to Vienna. The locomotive and some of the first carriages fell into the abyss, but the bridge structure was not seriously damaged, so traffic on the bridge resumed twenty days later. The Hungarian court sentenced the man to death, and the Austrian court sentenced him to six years in prison, but since Austria did not have the death penalty, he was eventually sentenced to life imprisonment. He left prison in 1945 with the Russians. Not much is known about him from then on, except that he did not stop being politically active, and this was his fate, as he was captured by partisans and taken to Novi Sad. It is believed that he is buried in a mass grave in Subotica.
