Police teams from Phase-1 Noida and Cyber ​​Crime Police Station, Noida, arrested two accused who were defrauding people by pretending to earn profits on online gaming/betting apps through a fake call center.

On December 9, 2025, the police teams from Phase-1 Noida and Cyber ​​Crime Police Station, Noida, with the assistance of local intelligence and beat policing, arrested two accused, Sachin Goswami and Kunal Goswami, currently residing on the top floor of B-Block, Building No. 9, Sector 2, Noida, who were defrauding people by pretending to earn profits on online gaming/betting apps through a fake call center. Seven laptops and eight mobile phones used in the crime were recovered from the accused's possession.

Method of committing the crime-

Gaming and betting apps are banned in India. Despite this, this gang would send advertisements to various websites, conduct searches, and obtain data from innocent members of the public. They would call them, promising them profits through gaming/betting. They would send links to gaming/betting apps, and obtain money in the name of creating IDs and passwords on various gaming platforms. They would initially gain trust by offering small amounts of money, and the defrauded funds would be transferred to various money mule accounts. These individuals were found to have no documents or registrations related to the operation of the call center or gaming/betting app. They were obtaining SIM cards using fake IDs and using them for calling.

Details of the accused-

1. Sachin Goswami, currently a resident of Delhi and originally from Muzaffarnagar district, age 33, education: MBA, finance.
2. Kunal Goswami, currently a resident of Delhi and originally from Ghaziabad district, age 22, education: BBA.

Details of the registered case-

FIR No. 140/2025, Sections 318(4), 319(2) BT and 66D of the IT Act and 42(3)(e), 42(3)(c) of the Telecommunications Act, 2023, Cyber ​​Crime Police Station, Commissionerate Gautam Buddh Nagar.

Details of the seizures-

1. 07 laptops used in the incident.

2. 08 mobile phones.
