Shishira and Navneeth 👫🏻 Thank you for watching our life in this vlog! Freme Travel invited us to experience this trip with them but did not pay us a fee to sponsor them in this video - in all honesty, the company was highly recommended to us by our uncle and aunty (who have used their service before) and other visitors to Brunei mainly because of their visa service (if a tour invitation letter is required by the Brunei Consulate/Embassy in your home country). Since we received many questions around this on Instagram, we wanted to help you know our experience of using the service of this company. Hope it is helpful in fulfilling your Borneo dream!

No visit to Brunei is complete without a visit to the greatest National Park in the country called Ulu Temburong National Park. While it is much harder to reach the depths of the forest in Malaysia and Indonesia, its actually very easily accessible in Brunei, especially after the 30km long bridge was built connecting Bandar Seri Begawan to the Temburong side of the country.

Previously, one could only visit by taking a long tail boat which took many hours. And once we arrived at Freme Lodge, we had a quick breakfast to energise for the hike in the dense forest. And then, we were invited onto a long boat to ride upstream into the national park, We climbed the most important scientific canopy tower after a one hour hike in the thick jungle. From there we could see nearly everything because of how high up it was. We then stopped at a hidden waterfall close to the river and enjoyed a refreshing swim in the blue lagoons.

Just when we thought this was so much fun, we saw a massive crocodile. Btw, there are anacondas here, because they're only found in South America - it was just that the movie was shot in Borneo. 😛 We also got to do our first ever Rafting experience in the rapids there. We were very hungry after this super-awesome day and when we returned to Freme Lodge, we enjoyed a delicious meal with so many special dishes cooked just for us. The Freme bus then dropped us back to our hotel in Bandar Seri Begawan by 5 pm.

Ulu Temburong is part of the massive Borneo forest, which is considered one of the oldest in the world. It is twice as old as the Amazon rainforest. It is also the third largest rainforest in the world as it spans across Brunei, Malaysia and Indonesia - covering a large part of the Borneo island.
