S1 – Ep 407 – George – What a Delightful Surprise!

Our visit to George was truly enchanting. Driving through the picturesque Outeniqua Pass amidst a heavy downpour and strong winds, we were mesmerised by the small waterfalls cascading down the cliffs. Upon reaching the city, the sight of everything glistening with cleanliness and vibrancy due to the rain was nothing short of awe-inspiring. Exploring The Transport Museum was a wonderful surprise, with its collection of vintage locomotives, coaches, and other historical exhibits showcasing the remarkable infrastructure South Africa once had. Our journey then led us to the historic Slave Tree in York Street, a poignant reminder of the past hardships endured by slaves. Reflecting on those challenging times, we felt grateful that such injustices have been left behind.
