Standing at a height of 365 m,the Sondai fort trek is a small hill fort trek,which is more of a watchtower.This fort is around 9 km from Karjat in Raigad district of Maharashtra.It was built close to the Karjat and Matheran mountain ranges.The fort is at the base of two villages,Sondewadi and Wavarle.Sondewadi is more preferable since the route from Wavarle has a little difficult approach as it passes through a dense forrest.Further It takes 1 to 1.5 Hour to reach the ladder after passing through the rocky climb which connects to the topmost part of the fort and one can seek Blessing of Maa Sondai.Upon reaching the top One can get a beautiful view of Morbe dam,Irshalgad Fort and the surrounding Matheran Hills Which is a hill Station ❤️😘
