A Panel Discussion on “Sorrows of Sarasvati”, an English translation of Mustansar Hussain Tarar’s acclaimed novel “Bahao” by Dr. Muhammad Safeer Awan and Dr. Saleem Khan. Bahao is one of Tarar’s finest novels that has captured global attention. “Sorrows of Sarasvati” is an attempt to introduce this masterpiece to the world literature.

Panelists:

● Dr. Muhammad Safeer Awan, Dean faculty of Arts and Humanities, National University of Modern Languages Islamabad, is a veteran professor of Global Anglophone Literature and Critical Theory. He is a Fiction Writer, Poet, Critic and a Translator. He has turned his creative attention to one of the most prolific and renowned writers of Pakistan, Mustansar Hussain Tarar, in order to bring his work into the global limelight.

● Dr. Snobar Altaf is author of “Kainaat ke Backyard se”, a collection of Urdu Nazms.

● Shujaat Hussain is currently an Associate professor of English at IMCB, Sihala. He is an avid reader of books and an art critic. He has been teaching English Literature and Criticism for quarter of a century. He is renowned for his wit and extensive study of art, culture and literature.

● Abdul Majeed is an education consultant and policy specialist with a background in English literature. Having served as a Lecturer in English at F. G. College and later as the English Program Manager with the U.S. Department of State, he is now Deputy Director, Policy and Planning, with the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA). He also teaches Public Policy at the National University of Modern Languages and Riphah International University. Outside of work, Abdul Majeed is an avid reader and cinephile, driven by his passion for literature, education, and continuous learning.
