Lake District Walks | The Buttermere Lake Walk - full circuit - the Mission: Impossible location

In early June 2023, Neil returns to Buttermere, one of the best places to visit in the Lake District, on a stunningly bright, dry, day, to walk anti-clockwise around the lake itself, a walk of around 4.5 miles.

On such a bright day, the views are unusually good, looking up to Fleetwith Pike and Haystacks (   • Lake District Walks | Haystacks to Fl...  ) at one end, the Buttermere Fells (   • Lake District Walks | the Buttermere ...  ) to one side, and the Newlands round (   • Lake District Walks | Newlands Round ...  ) to the other.

As mentioned in the film, this is also where Tom Cruise filmed some of Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning, in what turns out to be the final scene of Part One.
