LWFF – Grandiose Delusions: the case of Salvador Dali – BBC Panorama Interview + Guess My Line

Описание к видео LWFF – Grandiose Delusions: the case of Salvador Dali – BBC Panorama Interview + Guess My Line

The two video's presented here:

– a 1955 BBC Panorama interview of Salvador Dali by Malcom Muggeridge
– an episode of the U.S. TV gameshow, "What's My Line" (in which blindfolded panelists have to guess the identity or the profession of a guest...)

were used as an improvised backdrop for a clinical discussion of "Grandiose Delusions" by our guest speaker for the day, Neus Carbonell.

The Workshop featured a morning theoretical exposition (drawing on the texts of classical psychiatry as well developments by Freud, Lacan and Jacques-Alain Miller) and an afternoon session in which our speaker took Salvador Dali as a case study.

The study was not based on these videos as such, but on Salvador Dali's extensive autobiographical writings. They nevertheless provided an extremely interesting point of departure for our discussions.
