Nirmala Sitharaman has issued a strong warning to companies after the latest GST rate cut.

The Finance Minister stressed that the benefit must reach the public and not be hidden by increasing base prices.

Any company found guilty of keeping the benefit will face strict action, with penalties of ₹10 lakh for the first offense and ₹50 lakh for repeat violations.

To protect consumer rights in India, a dedicated consumer affairs helpline is open where complaints can be filed if the GST reduction is not passed on after 22nd September.

This move is a big step for transparency in the Indian economy.
