Описание к видео What's a 1000 Years Between Friends?

The Millennium of Revelation chapter 20. It is arguably one of the most disputed chapters in the book of Revelation. In this video I question the “Church Age,” as rooted in a seven-dispensation framework, instead suggesting that the church—God’s covenant people—has existed since Eden. I also challenge the rigid timeline promoted by dispensationalists (rapture, 7-year tribulation, 1000-year earthly reign of Christ) as way too complex and theologically puzzling. I question the idea of Christ reigning on earth with glorified saints, along with un-glorified mortal believers who's offspring somehow still rebel at the end of the Millennium, making the work of Christ still unfinished. We will look at, what is in my view the totally unbiblical notion of the re-institution of temple sacrifices, which the book of Hebrews clearly proclaims are now obsolete in Christ.

I will instead defend the “Amillennial” interpretation, (I like the term "Millennium Now" better), which sees the “Millennium” as symbolic and yet a definite period of time, the period of time between Christ’s first and second coming—a time when Christ reigns spiritually through His Church. Revelation is best interpreted, in my view, as a series of 7 parallel visions from different vantage point and that ramp up as they go. Rather than strict chronology, which can make a person crazy, chapter 20 being a recapitulation rather than a sequel to chapter 19. The final consummation of chapters 20-22 is not a temporary golden age on earth where King Jesus is still up against the wilds of Satan, but the new heavens and new earth where God dwells permanently with His people. I will grant that every eschatological view has its challenges but I urge you to consider the simplicity and coherence of the Amillennial perspective, which I think aligns more closely with Christ’s fulfilled work and the overarching narrative of redemptive history. BUT REMEMBER, THIS IS AN IN HOUSE DEBATE AND GODLY MEN AND WOMEN CAN DIFFER ON THIS DOCTRINE AND STILL BE BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN CHRIST. So, be convinced as to what you think the bible teaches, but don't get your knickers in a twist over it!
