RAMSBOTTOM MILLENIUM FESTIVAL

Chapter 1 – Millennium Festival “Awards For All” presentation at the Grant Arms (10th March). Town guided tour and preparations for “Grand Gala Opening” in Nuttall Park (17th June) with Dog training, Funfair, and Morris dancing. Sequence dancing in the Civic Hall and Tai Chi demonstration on the Market Place (19th June).
Chapter 2 – Sheep Dog Handling (19th June); Family Quiz at Ramsbottom Public Library (20th June); “Gardeners Question Time” at Christ Church (22nd June): “Made in Ramsbottom” exhibition in the Civic Hall (22nd June); Visit to Marshalls quarry, Danisco paper mill, and Colmar carpets.
Chapter 3 – Millenium Tapestries at St. Phillip’s church in Stubbins. Preparations for Fanale (23rd June). “Cherished Vehicle Show” at Nuttall Park then the Grant Arms car park (23rd June). Children's activities and Craft stalls in the Civic Hall along with Guitar tuition at the Adult Education Centre. Tottington Town Band outside the Parish church St. Paul.
Chapter 4 – Children’s themed Art Competition “Around Ramsbottom” with scenes of sculptures in Nuttall Park. The presentation of prizes to the children at the Civic Hall.
Chapter 5 – Grand Finale open-air afternoon concert outside the Civic Hall with performances by local schoolchildren, dance, and theatrical groups. Evening concerts at the Grant Arms Hotel and Pure Night Club (24th June). www.ramsbottomheritage.org.uk
