The encampment of the soldier's stretched for miles with Sherman and Logan setting up their headquarters at the Baker House Plantation. After and overnight stay, they would resume their march down the Old State Road with skirmishes along the way at places like Tom's Creek and others as they approached Congaree Creek on the 15th of February, 1865.
