Hand Over Shahjahan Sheikh To CBI Today: Calcutta High Court To Bengal Government | Top News

Top News | Sheikh Shahjahan, a former Trinamool leader accused of extortion, land grabbing, and sexual assault in Bengal's Sandeshkhali, was given custody of him by the Calcutta High Court on Tuesday. He is being investigated by the CBI. Bengal Police are allowed until 3:30 pm to turn over Shahjahan and any pertinent case files.
The government of Bengal promptly appealed the ruling to the Supreme Court, but its request for a prompt hearing was denied. The highest court requested that senior attorney Abhishek Singhvi bring up the case before its Registrar-General, stating that it will follow the norms.
