Consequently, Hertz won't achieve its electric fleet goal this year. Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath revealed that Hertz paused their agreement last fall, with Polestar waiving the 2024 purchase obligation to prevent a rapid sell-off of EVs at lower prices. The future of Hertz's purchases from Polestar will be reevaluated next year, with both parties expressing a desire to continue their partnership.
