This instructional video produced in Sinhalese by USAID Supporting Opportunities for Livelihoods Development (SOLID) activity – under the Asia and Middle East Economic Growth Best Practices project – shows the best practices to produce year-round cattle feed for Sri Lankan dairy farmers. This video is a part of SOLID’s training material to educate dairy farmers throughout Sri Lanka. The video demonstrates the multi-step approach to producing silage with high nutrient levels. Feeding high quality silage to dairy cows increases the milk yield which will ultimately result in an increase of household income for small-scale dairy farmers.
