With osteotomy, we can cut the bone on specific angles to achieve the desired shape. Those who find their lower jaw really wide and desire a slimmer and sharper jawline can opt for V-line jaw surgery.

𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐕-𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐲
It is a widely applicable procedure and with this procedure, we can achieve the below things:
✅ Reduce the width of jaw angle
✅ Reduce the prominence of the body of the mandible
✅ Narrow the chin area
With this surgery, both bone reduction, as well as muscle reduction, can be done. To correct the asymmetry of the jaw, we can use bone cutting or osteotomy procedures. This procedure is performed under general anesthesia.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐕-𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐲
V-line osteotomy seems to be a painful surgery but it is not and after the surgery minor swelling is observed. Patients are asked to be on a liquid diet after the surgery for a few days.
The complete joining of bones takes about 3 months. The plates can be removed after a few months.
✅ Take antibiotics.
✅ Maintain oral hygiene.
✅Take liquid-diet for as long as the surgeon recommends.
