(S-2 Ep-7) A Glimpse of our Backyard Cruising Grounds

NOTE: This Shoestring Shipyard Sailing video was originally posted on: 3/31/2021

Due to numerous attacks and false music copyright claims against two of my YouTube channels by thieves and unscrupulous hackers. This is one of several affected videos I have had to re-edit and remove the music from the video. I could challenge these claims with YouTube, but it is a lengthy, laborious task involving numerous pages and forms online, dealing with “bots” instead of humans. It’s simply faster and easier (for me) with much less stress and hassle to re-edit then re-post the video and delete the original. Note I have included the same Season and Episode numbers, along with the original titles. Plus, I have put the original video post date above. I hope this does not cause any inconvenience for my subscribers/viewers.

The video description below is as appeared in the original posting of this video.

Along with the warming temperatures, we’ve experienced a few torrential downpours of rain this past week. As such, the ground is saturated and exceptionally soft. I took advantage of having to remain inside by working on my office/art studio makeover.

I am editing this video today (Wednesday, March 31st, 2021) and yesterday there was a break in the rain squalls, so my wife Susan and I went down to a couple of local beaches to walk around a bit and get out of the house. I took my Go-Pro Hero 5 with me and shot a few short clips to share with all of you.

This is essentially our “backyard,” and this is our home cruising area. We are located in (The “real”) Downeast Maine (Washington County coastline), also known as Maine’s “Bold Coast.” There was quite a bit of wind causing audio problems, so I have cut out most of the sound and replaced it with a bit of music.

This is a great area for those with small trailer sailboats to visit and tour the rocky coastline, do a bit of gunkholing, and explore some of the islands.

I hope you enjoy the video.
