I recently got a question, "What cards are good for magic and cardistry?"

My answer is... it depends.

It depends if you like how it feels, how it looks, and if you can afford it.

But, for me, a true magician/cardist can work with any type of playing cards.

It can be as cheap as your plastic bridged-sized playing cards sa bangketa or as expensive as super rare and limited never-to-be-printed playing cards! Playing cards is for everyone! Magic and cardistry are too!
