How can educated and learned persons apply their learnings to good use?
Educated people should spend time educating the uneducated ones depending upon the circumstances.
Education is not merely meant for eking out a livelihood.
Not even meant for some selfish purposes.
Not even for getting a job or earning money.
Education is meant to broaden and increase one’s mental power.
Today’s education is going on a narrower path.
Broad-mindedness is a big zero in this education of the present day.
Cultivation is meant for eking a livelihood, but education is meant for wisdom.
But unfortunately, today people think education is meant for earning a livelihood.
The responsibility of an educated person is to impart knowledge and encourage people to develop/cultivate big hearts.
Physical power should be used to help people who need it to save them from their burdens, difficulties, and troubles, and to protect them.
An educated person could be a doctor or a lawyer.
He could even be a businessman.
An educated person who is a doctor, should approach people who do not have good health, give them medical help, and see that their health improves without taking any money.
He should perform free service.
His knowledge of medicine should be made available without any selfishness, free of cost to poor people.
A lawyer also should undertake selfless service to people lacking strength and need legal help.
He has to help them to come out of the problems which they are facing, without charging anything, for free.
Next is a businessman.
A businessman should save as much income as needed and the excess should be used for charity and welfare of the society.
In this way, one should use one's education to take up activities with service organisations.
But unfortunately, you would not come across that kind of attitude among the educated people in the present day.
Be it a doctor, a lawyer, or a businessman, their main concern seems to be amassing wealth, but not concerned about the safety and welfare of the people.
People who exploit the helpless can never be happy in life, however much money they may amass.
Joy and peace will prevail with people if they have earned money in the proper way.
Money earned by exploiting others, and putting them to suffering will always cause you distress.
Realising this basic truth, people should undertake service to society.
If you really want to have a safe and peaceful life in the future, put your strengths to good use.
Service is the best of the Sadhanas.
Even without doing any Chanting or Meditation, through service, one can realise the true nature of Paramatma which is Divine, Godly, and Loving.
Service also conveys the experience of unity in diversity.
If you want to recognise the oneness of Divinity existing in every human being, service is the best Sadhana.
Provide facilities of education and health, for forlorn ones, and poor people who do not have anyone to attend to. We should offer appropriate help to such people.
It is not good to live for oneself selfishly.
A life lived for others is only a true life.
It is not possible for a human being to live alone entirely for oneself in this time or in this world.
Without the help of society, without recognising the sacredness of society, humans can not live even for a moment.
Humans are born in society, live in society, and ultimately end their lives in society.
Offering gratitude to such a society, which confers so many benefits, is a very important duty for humans.
But today’s humans, instead of developing gratitude, are developing ingratitude.
Gratefulness and gratitude must be life breaths for all humans.
