What is cosmeceutical skincare? | Alice Hart-Davis

Cosmeceuticals are a type of skincare product that are halfway between cosmetic skincare and pharmaceutical - ie medicinal - skincare, hence the name.
At least that's the idea - there's no legal definition of cosmeceuticals - but what people mean by 'cosmeceutical skincare' are products that contain therapeutic doses of well-known ingredients such as retinoids, or vitamin C, or glycolic acid, which are put together in thoughtful formulas, with great delivery systems, so that they will be really effective at changing and improving the skin.
