Описание к видео The Power of Community Media: Rob Heydari at TEDxRyersonU

Rob Heydari communicates the importance of community media in a digital landscape dominated by mass media content. He emphasizes that distinct communities aren't often reflected in the media content that we consume, and illuminates the importance of curated local content.

Rob Heydari is a production coordinator for RUtv at Ryerson's RTA School of Media, as well as an associate producer-technician at the CBC. A native of Edmonton, Alberta who moved to Toronto to be at the centre of Canadian media production, he completed his degree, with honours, in Radio and Television Arts in 2011, while also earning a Dennis Mock Leadership Award from Ryerson University.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
