agnirjyotirahah' shuklah' shanmaasaa uttaraayanam
tatra prayaataa gachchhanti brahma brahmavido janaah' .. 8-24

అగ్నిర్జ్యోతిరహః శుక్లః షణ్మాసా ఉత్తరాయణమ్
తత్ర ప్రయాతా గచ్ఛన్తి బ్రహ్మ బ్రహ్మవిదో జనాః .. 8-24

He is talking about the fate of a yogi. That means, agnirjyotirahah' shuklah' - that means Agni - fire; Jyoti light; Ahah means daytime; shuklam means fortnite, first fortnight of the moon, that is light of the Moon, that is Shukla paksham; shanmaasaa uttaraayanam - there are six months of this uttarayanam, that is starting from the middle of the January to the middle of the July. These are called uttarayanam 6 months. Uttaram means upwards. Uttaram means not North. North is, for our North is upwards only. So these are positive points. That is, Agni, daytime and light and this Shuklapaksham and this Uttarayanam 6 months. All these are in positive manner. That means, all these are denoting about light only, light only. Tatra prayaataa gachchhanti brahma brahmavido janaah' - one who passes all these three, all these things, naturally he will become the Brahman. He knows the Brahman and he will become the Brahman.
