HEPYEK (Solo Live Loop Performance)

Ney, vokal, perdesiz gitar, elektro gitar ve çağlama enstrümanlarının kullanıldığı; makamsal müzik, modern müzik öğeleri ve doğaçlamalardan oluşan tek kişilik canlı loop performansıdır.

Günümüz dünya müziği kriterlerine uygun bir sound ve aranje anlayışından yola çıkarak seçilmiş repertuarda, halk müziği ve geleneksel türk müziği eserlerinin ve benzeri tavırdaki fikirlerin, döngüsel minvalde yorumlanmasıdır. Bu döngülerin amacı geleneksel müzikte var olan ‘’dem tutmak’’ öğesini temsil etmekdir ki ‘’dem’’ tutmanın yanında sonsuz ritm ve armoni olanaklarını da bize sunar. Geleneksel ve pastoral bir müziğin, endüstriyel ve modern hayat algısı ile ‘’gerilim-çözülüm’’ ilişkisi gibidir adeta .Tüm bu olgu, duyu ve duygular, bazen öze küçülerek bazen de yabancılşarak kimliklerinden arınır ve sükûta erer. Teknik anlamda ise bu performans, Anadolu’ya mâl olmuş ritmik ve melodik yapıların yanı sıra; afroritm ve groovelar, doğaçlama fusion sololar, taksimler, makamsal melodi ve armoniler ile örülür. Nihai amacı ise trans halinde sıhhate kavuşmaktır.
Başka bir deyişle; Hepyek, melodi ve armonilerini kara parçalarında büyütür, bir rotası olmadan semada dolanır ve duygusunu denizin dibine bırakır.

Hepyek is a solo, live loop performance composed of modal and modern music elements as well as improvisation. Reed, vocal, fretless guitar, electric guitar and çağlama are used as instruments.

The repertoire is based on a concept that the sound and the arrangments are convenient with the criteria of contemporary world music which consists of folk music from various regions of Turkey and the instrumental compositions featuring the characteristics of the traditional Turkish music pieces mostly accompanied with improvisation. It mainly expresses the intersection and merging of the traditional and native life with the modern life while having its share of the industry. Technically, besides the rhythmic and the melodic structure renowned from all around the Anatolia; this performance is merely a transcendental experience that reaches the styles like afro rhythm and groove, jazz harmony, modular harmony and polyphony, Anatolian ethnic music and progressive music.

In other words, Hepyek nourishes melodies and harmonies on the mainlands, cruises in the heavens without a route and releases its sensation deep down to the bottom of the sea.

Hepyek is een solo, live loop performance. Volkan Incüvez maakt daarbij gebruik van traditionele instrumenten als de ney en çağlama, maar ook van de fretloze en electrische gitaar en zijn stem.

Het repertoire is gebaseerd op muziek en liederen vanuit de verschillende regio’s in Turkije. Karakteristieke elementen uit de traditionele Turkse muziek worden gecombineerd met improvisaties en effect loops, wat leidt tot een geheel eigen stijl.
De muziek is een uiting van de botsing en kruisbestuiving tussen de traditionele levenswijzen en de moderne maatschappij, zonder hierbij het industriële aspect te vergeten.
Naast de kenmerkende Midden-Oosterse ritmische en melodische structuren, brengt hij een transcendentale ervaring waarin elementen te vinden zijn uit de afro rhythm & groove, harmonieuze jazz, Anatolische etnische - en progressieve muziek.

Hepyek brengt melodieën van het vaste land, scheert onstuimig door de lucht, en neemt je mee naar de bodem van de zee.
