The Trash Panda Blues | 1950s Raccoon Rockabilly

Описание к видео The Trash Panda Blues | 1950s Raccoon Rockabilly

In the vibrant music scene of the 1950s, a uniquely charismatic band emerged, capturing the hearts and imaginations of fans across the nation. Known as Ringtail Pete and the Dumpster Divers, this rockabilly ensemble was not your typical group. Comprising three raccoons from the back alleys of Nashville, Tennessee, they brought an infectious energy to the rock 'n' roll era that was entirely their own.

Ringtail Pete, the leader and vocalist, was known for his slick, pompadour fur and a voice that could make any tune a toe-tapper. His charismatic stage presence and mischievous grin made him a favorite among the crowds. Pete found his calling in music one fateful night while rummaging through a dumpster outside a honky-tonk bar, where the sounds of Elvis Presley echoed into the alley. Inspired, he decided it was time for him and his pals to form a band.

Together, they became Ringtail Pete and the Dumpster Divers. Through the late 1950's, they played every street corner and landfill from Memphis to St. Louis. Eventually, they earned enough money to retire and live happily living on marshmallows and cotton candy in a secluded area south of Nashville.

Lyrics:

Sitting on my porch, nowhere to go
I heard a rustle in the bushes below
Out stepped a paw, then came two
It's a raccoon band just singing the blues

Rockin' and rollin' all night long
Listen for a while and hear their song
With reckless abandon and nothing to lose
Ain't nothing like the trash panda blues

The first was Oscar so sly and slick
Dancin' round my yard pullin' every trick
He strums on a bottle with a guitar string,
Taps on a can, makes it ring a ding ding

Ain't nothing like the trash panda blues

The next was Ralph, chopsticks in hand
Counting his beats, guiding the band
With a wag of his tail, he conducts the choir,
Setting my old heart clean on fire.

Rockin' and rollin' all night long
Listen for a while and hear their song
With reckless abandon and nothing to lose
Ain't nothing like the trash panda blues

The crooner of the bunch, they call him Pete
He’s the talk of the town out on Main Street.
From the baker’s trash to the butcher’s scraps,
He’s the midnight prince of the alley cats.

Rockin' and rollin' all night long
Listen for a while and hear their song
With reckless abandon and nothing to lose
Ain't nothing like the trash panda blues
