1959 Gottlieb HI-DIVER pinball machine

Описание к видео 1959 Gottlieb HI-DIVER pinball machine

Here we have a classic Gottlieb woodrail Hi-Diver machine from 1959. This game is moderately fun with the cute backglass animation and the very excellent Roy Parker artwork. The objectives are simple: advance the diver to score "points" and win replays. This game, similar to others of the period, have two different scoring systems where there's the "score" in the backbox but then there's the "points" on the playfield that are unrelated. This way the player can earn replays on either scoring system. You'll notice the points labeled one through 10 on the playfield and then the thousands and millions on the backglass.

Anyway, not much else to say. This game certainly won't blow your hair back, but it's classy and charming all the same. Pretty typical game from Gottlieb in the late-50's. Nice looker. But those outlanes are vicious!

Hi-Diver was designed by the great Wayne Neyens with artwork by, as mentioned, Roy Parker. For more info on this game, see here:

Very special thanks to my pal Julia Massey for permission to use her tune "Precisely Clunky" as my outro music.
