The single focuses on the magic moment before a human being’s transition from life into death. It appears as a junction: Looking back at a whole life span while struggling with the uncertainty of what is to come now: Is it a nowhere or a somewhere?

Lyricist and singer Michael Vahl comments on the genesis of ‘Oceans Of Time’:
‘I like working with intertextuality and have been doing so in almost all my lyrics since we started the band back in 2007. Interpreting and conveying a text or media into something new has become a big part of our lyrical expression, and that is also the case in Oceans of Time.
I remember seeing “American Beauty” in my early teenage years – probably just around when the band started. I was completely absorbed by the ending monologue, which is basically a speech about the beauty of life – delivered by a dying person with a stoic inner peace.
In the lyrics for Oceans of Time, I revisit the monologue – but this time out of the context from the movie, which makes it even more open for interpretation.’
