The name Muhammed Deepak is trending across social media today — and the reason is simple: humanity.

In Kotdwar, Uttarakhand, a 30-year-old shop called Baba Clothes was targeted and pressured to shut down, not because it was illegal, but because its owner is an elderly Muslim. Members of Bajrang Dal objected to the word “Baba,” claiming it belongs only to Hindus, despite the fact that the entire area is named after the famous Siddh Bali Baba Temple, and most shops there use “Baba” in their names.

When the shop was being harassed, Deepak Kumar, a local gym trainer, stood up against the injustice and forced the group to leave. The video went viral — and that’s when things escalated.

Soon after, 100–150 people allegedly gathered, attempted to attack Deepak’s gym, hurled abuses, issued threats, and created chaos. Despite police presence, no strict action was taken against the mob. Instead, an FIR was filed against Deepak, accusing him of theft and fighting, while those clearly seen abusing and threatening on camera were listed as “unknown.”

This is not just one man’s story.
It reflects a deeper problem — where standing up for what’s right can make you a target, and where acts of humanity are punished to discourage others from speaking up.
