The movies can be a great place to meet people -- if you know the right way to flirt in that environment. And that's exactly what you'll learn in this video.

Speaker 1: I know that a lot of first dates or group dates happen at the movies.

Rachel: Yes.

Speaker 1: And it's stereotypical that people get their first kisses, or first dot dot dot, at the movies. Oh, the old yawn. So, we just wanted to go over a few ways that you can flirt with someone that you're interested with. Yeah, as Rachel said, it is a kind of joke, but a lot of times it's just too quick, too much for a guy to just go like, you know. So, a lot a times do the [makes sounds] stretching, and then you put the hand on the top of the chair itself. It lets them feel comfortable with the fact that you're there, and the hand can slowly start touching. Then they know that it's OK, and you're reading her body language and stuff, too. What about you? What have you found cute and fun to do?

Rachel: I think it really is all touch ...

Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.

Rachel: ... in a movie setting. You can't talk, or you're gonna get yelled at. It's really about positioning your body so that you're giving them, I guess not access, but you're making ...

Speaker 1: You're not being closed off.

Rachel: ... it seemed like you're, yeah, you're making it seem like you're open to being touched.

Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.

Rachel: So if there's a scary scene, touch a knee, and be like, 'Oh, my God ...

Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.

Rachel: ... did you see that?'

Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.

Rachel: The arm behind the chair is a great thing. And eventually you could get a little closer. We're not gonna start making out at the movies, because that's obnoxious for the people around you.

Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.

Rachel: But getting close enough, the flirtation has to happen with your body.

Speaker 1: Mm-hmm.

Rachel: So, I think that's the point of it.

Speaker 1: And one of the ways, too, so many of the movie theaters nowadays, the armrests go up.

Rachel: That's true.

Speaker 1: You've got the armrest on the other side to keep the popcorn and the Coke. If you really want to show that you're on a date and that you intend to be physical, and touching, and flirting, take that up. Take the ...

Rachel: The barrier up.

Speaker 1: ... yeah, exactly. That way you can scoot closer together, and your arms are brushing.

Rachel: Are we gonna hold hands?

Speaker 1: That removes that barrier and allows you to be more intimate, more playful, and more fun. Just, like she says, don't make it uncomfortable for people around you.

Rachel: That's the biggest thing. Not too much PDA, but just a little bit to let them know that you're interested.

Speaker 1: Right. And exactly like she said. With the scary part, do a little touch, and see how it's received. And if they can linger a little longer as they can.

Rachel: Yeah.

Speaker 1: But, basically don't hold your hands over here.

Rachel: Yeah.

Speaker 1: Make sure, like she said, access but you shouldn't ...

Rachel: You don't want to be so far away that it's showing off that you have no interest in this person.

Speaker 1: Right.

Rachel: But you also don't want to be on top.

Speaker 1: Right. So the closer you are, the more accidental brushes can come into play.

Rachel: Oh, you like me?

Speaker 1: Well, that's where the magic is.
