初めての弦ラーセンで「ロンドンデリーの歌」by F.Kreisler「Londonderry Air」

『ロンドンデリーの歌』（The Londonderry Air）は、18世紀から伝わる古いアイルランドの旋律『若者の夢（The Young Man's Dream）』に基づく歌詞の無い器楽曲です。

北アイルランド、ロンドンデリー出身のジェイン・ロス（Jane Ross/1810–1879) が収集したことから、後年この曲名がつきました。またこのメロディには様々な歌詞がつけられていますが、『ダニーボーイ（Danny Boy）』が最も有名であり、出兵する子供を想う母親または父親の切ない心境と子供への愛が描写されています。

今日はクライスラー編曲のロンドンデリーの歌をはじめての弦、ラーセンで弾いてみました。
低張力だからか低弦には深みがあって、全体は明るく何よりクリア。気に入りました。
弦によって、随分音のキャラクターが変わるのもヴァイオリンの面白いところですね。
これからもいろいろ試してみようと思います。

The Londonderry Air is an instrumental piece without lyrics based on The Young Man's Dream, an old Irish melody from the 18th century.

It was collected by Jane Ross (1810-1879) of Londonderry, Northern Ireland, and later given this name. The melody has various lyrics, the most famous of which is "Danny Boy," which describes a mother's or a father's sorrowful feelings and love for a child who is about to leave for war.

Today I played Kreisler's arrangement of the Londonderry Song on Larsen strings for the first time.
The low strings have depth, perhaps because of the low tension. I liked it.
It is an interesting thing about the violin that the character of the sound changes so much depending on the strings.I will continue to experiment with different strings in the future.
