My cover of "Good Morning World" from the new Summer anime Dr. Stone! It was kind of hard to miss this anime given how much Crunchyroll and literally everyone was promoting it, but so far watching the first two episodes it's lived up to the hype. I can confidently say that the OP gets better and better as you listen to it more.

This cover is higher up on the difficulty scale because of the intense electric guitar in the beginning, which I knew from the start would be difficult (to make sound OK) on piano. There's still a little bit of inconsistency in the tempo, but it was a great challenge that (I hope) elevated my playing a next step up. I’ll admit, there was many times where I wanted to simplify the rhythm in the right hand to make it easier to play, since I saw other cover artists who did that and it still sounded great. However, I knew I wasn’t going to improve my playing without challenging myself, so... eighth notes it is. Initially, I thought this song wouldn't fit my playing style that well, but the cover actually turned out better than I expected! I’m not sure what part of the song it’s called, but in the few measures leading up to the chorus, the left hand rhythm is inspired by Fonzi M’s amazingly clean cover of “Good Morning World”. I usually watch a few other covers before I make my own, and I just found the syncopated rhythms so cool — something I wouldn’t have thought of on my own.
