🚗 A Bronx auto shop is doing its part to help the community and avoid the wreckage their business can see around the holidays by offering a free ride New Year's Eve ride to anyone under the influence—and their vehicle.

"I've seen some horrific stuff. If we can save a person's life, it's a relief," Eddie Vasquez, who manages Five J's Automotive, told 1010 WINS. "If you're under the influence, or intoxicated, you give us a call at 718-792-0300, we'll be more than happy to pick you and your vehicle up and take you to your destination, free of charge."

The service has been offered for decades, and Vasquez thinks not enough people take advantage of the offer. But for those who do, he knows from industry experience that the business is making a difference.

"You know, if you can save a life, one or two or three, during the year, then who's better to not give that back to the community," he said.
