Cornwall’s beautiful landscape provides the perfect setting for the hugely popular tv series, Poldark. My film takes you on a tour around all of the key filming locations & contains behind the scenes location footage from seasons 3 & 4. Here is some information about the places featured.

• Kynance Cove – nr The Lizard. Spectacular beaches & blue waters. Beach café recommended. Poldark location: Used for scenes as Namparra.
• Charlestown – St Austell. Perfectly preserved historic port, frequently featured in film and tv. Featured as the ports of Falmouth and Truro.
• Holywell Bay – Golden sands, and the iconic Gull Rock islands. Popular family beach. Used as Warleggan beach. Key scenes relating to Morwenna and Drake’s romance were filmed here for sn 3.Ross & Demelza filmed here in ep 1 sn 3.
• Gunwalloe – nr Helston, 3 beaches, all featured in the series. Church Cove in sn 3 when Morwenna and her ward witness Dr Ennis and Caroline Penvenen together, prior to their marriage in ep 1 sn 3. Dollar Cove was used in sn 1 ep 8 for the shipwreck. Gunwalloe Beach – Long sandy beach. Used in sn 2 and 3 location of Dr Ennis’ cottage.
• St Breward, Bodmin Moor. Ivey Farm, a cottage on private land used for exterior shots of Nampara. The farm can be approached from common access land. Be careful not to trespass . Access land/right to roam can be found here.

• Botallack Mine, nr St Just - Iconic, breathtaking coastline. West Wheal Owles mine is the setting for Poldark’s Wheal Leisure mine. Crowns engine house was used as Grambler mine.
• St Agnes Head – Sweeping dramatic coastline & clifftop mine ruins. Used as the valley setting for Ross Poldark’s Namparra. The setting for many cliff-top horse-riding sequences including, Demelza in ep 1, sn 3.
• The Hurlers, Minions on Bodmin Moor – Ancient stone circle.
• Bodmin Moor –Craddock Moor. An area of natural beauty. Explore the walking trails. Crossroads used in sn 1 ep 1, when Ross returns by carriage.
• Levant Mine – Pendeen. Features the world’s only surviving steam powered Cornish beam engine. Featured as the Tressiders Rolling Mill.
• Poldark Mine – Trenear. Open air museum, with underground mine tours. Used as Wheal Leisure for underground filming in sn 1.
• Perranporth – Spectacular sandy beaches. Not currently used in recent series but was the home of Winston Graham and provided the inspiration for his books.
• Penberth – Tiny fishing hamlet, set in a tranquil cove. The village where the Cornish villagers live that Dr Ennis treats, including Demelza’s family. Demelza’s brothers featured in sn 3 in the village. Featured in sn 4.
• Porthcurno – Beautiful beach used as Nampara cove. In sn 2 ep 1 Ross and Demelza beach dream sequence.
• Predannock Wollas – The Lizard. Windswept headland. Used for Poldark’s riding sequences.
• Porthcothan – A popular sandy beach with families backed by sand dunes. Used as Namparra land.
• Gwennap Head – Porthgwarra. A beautiful coastal walk, with impressive rock formations. You can join the walk from Porthgwarra. Featured in sn 2.
• Porthgwarra Cove – Small beach and tranquil waters. Ross swam in the tranquil waters of the cove in sn 1. Cove cottage is used in several scenes in sn 2. One of the tunnels was used when Poldark helped Mark Daniel escape in sn 1. Also been used for filming season 4.
• Bedruthan Steps – Breathtaking scenery on this coastal walk. A scene between Ross and Francis was shot with the steps in the background.
• Park Head – A wind-swept headland, with dramatic cliffs.Used for footage of Poldark galloping across the cliff tops on horseback in sn 2.
