Continuing our 3rd camping adventure, this time at OWL D'Rening in Batang Kali, Selangor. The journey took about 2 hours due to heavy traffic, possibly because many people were still in holiday mode due to school breaks. We arrived at the campsite around 2 pm. Initially, we booked site number 7, but upon arrival, the camp organizer offered another site that provided more privacy. The site was spacious, with the added convenience of parking our car nearby. The only drawback was the distance from the toilet. We were the only ones in this area, with no neighbors on either side, which suited us fine as we prefer tranquility.

Setting up the tent was quite challenging due to the extremely hot weather. We hurried to complete the tent setup. The girls suggested going to the river to cool off. The night was cool and calm. What I liked about this place was that the camp organizer, Abg Botak, the owner, and his wife were very friendly. They often checked on us, asking if everything was okay, apologizing for any inconvenience, and even helping us buy eggs because ours broke while setting up the tent. The check-in and check-out times were flexible, allowing us to take our time without feeling rushed.

The night was quiet since we were far from the main campsite, and we didn't regret choosing this spot as the main campsite was quite crowded that weekend. We felt safe with the presence of dogs guarding the area. We had a restful and cool night; everyone pulled up their blankets, and we didn't even need a fan. When we woke up, it was already morning. Before the sun rose, we explored the area, climbed a hill to breathe in the fresh air, and enjoyed the beautiful view from the top. If you wake up early, you can catch the sunrise. Around 10 am, the sun started to get hot, feeling like an oven inside the tent. So, everyone headed to the river, placed chairs, and soaked their feet. The river was refreshing, and the camp organizer mentioned that there had never been any flooding or "kepala air", making it safe for kids to play in the water. The river is also suitable for tubing, and you can rent a float for RM10 per day.

Around 4 pm, after lunch, we started packing up. By 6 pm, we left for home to avoid driving in the forest at night. Overall, this place is fantastic, and it's no wonder it's popular among campers. Next time, we plan to try Eagle D'Rening, but it's accessible only by 4x4 vehicles. We'll see if we have the opportunity; someone even mentioned buying a FORD Raptor. Thanks to my husband for entertaining all my crazy ideas. Until the next camping trip, hopefully in May. Now, it's time to take a break as I need to focus on exams and the upcoming Ramadan.
