Boat trailer brake overhaul

Boat trailers often have special non-metalic type pistons fitted to the brake calipers. The primary reason isn't to try and reduce failure due to corrosion, however, these pistons come with their own set of problems.

Binding brakes on boat trailers is a common problem here in New Zealand and although I have already made a handful of videos showing how to strip down, inspect and rebuild hydraulic calipers when the chance came along to cover the specifics of this alternative design I jumped at the chance...

This job didn't go too smoothly and this pair of calipers had a range of faults, some I predicted, others I only discovered during the final bench test!
