This video offers a small window into a big part of my life. I’m a Community Builder with the Center for Independent Futures, where I live and work alongside adults with disabilities in our supportive housing community.

My role shifts throughout the day — neighbor, mentor, friend, problem-solver, partner. Together we build the routines, relationships, and confidence that make independent adulthood feel possible and joyful. This work is rooted in love, trust, shared living, and showing up for people in ways that matter, and it's been one of the most grounding and meaningful parts of my life since I began it in 2012.

This video also captures a quiet truth about me: I feel most myself when I’m serving others — especially those who have been pushed to the margins, left out of spaces everyone else takes for granted, navigating a society that rarely slows down enough to truly see them, and living in the shadows of structures that should have protected them.

This work has been both a calling and a compass. It keeps me grounded, reminds me of what matters, and continues to shape the person I’m becoming. It’s made clear to me that serving others isn’t just something I do... it isn’t a task or a role — it’s the way I make sense of the world and the way I choose to move through it with intention.
