Sunrise implosion of TVA’s Bull Run coal plant — filmed by drone
This morning, June 28 2025 at 6:06 a.m. ET, the two smokestacks at TVA’s Bull Run Steam Plant in Claxton, TN were dropped in a controlled implosion. I flew 1.1 miles away under FAA Part 107/LAANC clearance and captured the whole thing.
• Location: 1265 Edgemoor Rd, Clinch River shoreline, opposite Melton Hill Dam
• Charges set by: Dykon Blasting Corp.
• Fun fact: Bull Run generated power from 1967-2020 and was TVA’s last coal plant in East Tennessee.

The second implosion is scheduled around 12:05 p.m. today. If weather allows, I’ll post aerial of that later.
