The abductors, who are from the girl’s in-laws, threatened her with a gun and fired shots in the air to intimidate the bystanders. The victim, a minor who had been living with her father after enduring harassment from her in-laws over dowry demands, was forcibly taken away in a car by the perpetrators. The girl's father has filed a complaint with the police, who have launched an investigation to locate the abductors. The girl had been living with her father and studying after returning from her in-laws' house, where she was subjected to constant pressure for dowry.
