Perth Tsunami Evidence Ep3 Swanbourne Beach and Bold Park Sand Dunes

Описание к видео Perth Tsunami Evidence Ep3 Swanbourne Beach and Bold Park Sand Dunes

Update: I have incorrectly identified some snail shells in this episode as being from a marine environment, but they are actually land snails: they are likely Cochlicella sp., possibly C. acuta.

In this episode I stay close to home and look for tsunami evidence in the sand dunes at Swanbourne Beach and Bold Park in Perth, Western Australia.

Evidence of a Mega Tsunami is found all along the Indian Ocean coast of Western Australia.

Swanbourne Beach is the closest undeveloped stretch of coast to the City of Perth. Dunes here are the typical wind and storm deposited coastal dunes seen worldwide. A kilometre or so inland is the relatively undisturbed and now protected area of Bold Park. The park has multiple candidates of possible tsunami chevron dunes.

There are also sea shells within the sand layers, something that can be used to prove the layers was washed in by a wave, and not blown in by the wind.
