We recently put our 100th release on pre-order. It is a 33 track compilation called ‘Cheap Cans, Broken Vans and Basement Bar Bands’.

We are over the moon to have several exclusive tracks on the release.
One of those exclusive tracks is ‘You Can Only Try Your Best’ by Knife Club. Knife Club features members of Nosebleed, Haest, Casual Nausea, Faintest Idea, Matilda’s Scoundrels and Revenge Of The Psychotronic Man, who have all released music through TNS.

The images are the covers of all our releases. We couldn’t feature every band we have worked with on the compilation, but we wanted to pay tribute to them all via this video.

Every release has been important to us and all these bands have been a pleasure to work with and an important part of our journey.

The lyrics to the track were written by Andy, who co-runs our label. The lyrics explore the huge ups and downs and challenges of running a DIY label. Trying to constantly improve every aspect of what we do, whilst also having ‘real’ jobs and multiple other commitments has been an incredibly hard, but ultimately rewarding experience.

The track was produced by Ben Hannah at Organworks in Leeds.

Cheap Cans, Broken Vans and Basement Bar Bands is available to pre-order on CD or double gatefold vinyl. There are bundle options including t-shirts, a zine telling the history of the label and a jigsaw with all of the covers featured in this video.
