Laura Dre - Kyoto Dreams [Track]

Originally released as a free bonus download song for those lucky enough to pre-order Dre’s debut album Moving Spaces, Kyoto Dreams is a departure from the sultry synths and groovy beats that drive that album. The track is a combination of chill-synth with hints of Japanese instruments and is the lead single from her upcoming sophomore album of the same name. The largely instrumental concept album marks a notable stylistic change from her previous work, featuring dialogue in Japanese and an eclectic mix of otherworldly electronic chill-synth and lo-fi house.

Dre explains, “The music I composed is very unique and has my personal eclectic taste in the mix. Whilst Kyoto dreams may have some touches of 'Retrowave', the other songs haven't. Some tracks have hip hop drums and the other ones 90s house vibes, but all of the tracks have retro synths and Japanese instruments, since the setting is in Japan.”

No slouch to her craft, Laura wrote, performed on, mixed, mastered and produced the entire upcoming album. She also designed all artwork related to the album release due on Christmas Eve, December 24th.
