Masterpieces of Painting is my personal tribute to great painters and their works. For the most famous ones, usually presented in the 500-page canonical edition of the History of Art. But also for the less known, for whom I have extended the history of art to 2,500 pages. It is only against such a broad background that the mysterious genius of the most valued can be seen. I can assure you that among the less known there are many wonderful paintings that fully deserve to be called a masterpiece. But not all of them are, of course, masterpieces. I also show those with an unusual idea, an intriguing detail, an interesting symbol or an original motif. It also lists the exact titles and dates should you wish to further decode the characters, content, or symbolism. Just search on wikipedia. I start my story with Giotto di Bondone, born in 1226, and his painting considered to be the first painting of the Renaissance - the Kiss of Judas from 1305.
