How To Check Diaphragm Rigidity In Etabs 2023

Описание к видео How To Check Diaphragm Rigidity In Etabs 2023

In this educational video, we will try to explain how to control the Diaphragm rigidity in the ETABS (Rigid or Semi-rigid) only in Y-Direction and other Direction (X-Direction) is similar to Y-Direction. To do this, it is necessary to first obtain story Drifts By Diaphragm center of mass Displacements or By Diaphragm Max/Ave Drifts and export them to excel. In the second step, get the forces acting on each floor, which is the shear difference acting on the floors. to do that go to Display ,show tables ,story forces and bring them to excel.
Then, we assign the forces of floors that we obtained in the previous step to the beams in the X direction in unit of kgf/m. In the next step, we select the floor nodes of each frame with shear wall and add Restraint Translation-Y. To control the rigidity of the diaphragm, the floors must be Shell type and must be meshed and divided manually
Do All these steps in Save As file from main ETABS file. the following video show all steps. I hope you can understand this method and you can use it in your design.
