Sonar Barsa | Story - 15

This wonderful folktale from Karnataka is about how a couple - Bholu and Nimoo (who were gifted a cow called Sonar Barsa as reward for their good deed) was fooled by their dishonest daughter. The gift they received from the Sparrow King was a cow whose dung turned to gold the moment it touched the earth. The daughter swapped the magical cow with her ordinary one and thus began a fun filled adventure for Bholu and Nimoo.

This is a retelling of the story that appears in Amar Chitra Katha, Volume 808, The Mystery of the missing Gifts.
