Day one delivery , Ford Sierra 1600LX, 1987 52K miles 2 previous owners, last old boy in late 70s stored 17 years in a huge ware house with his 7 buses and motorbikes, Huge recommission and credit to Bruce for saving a great car. Next E bay description showing works and history .Here is my 1987 Ford Sierra 1600 LX 5 speed manual with only 52,000 miles in Silica gold

this is a fairly early Mk2 sierra, fitted with the 165 emax 1600 Pinto engine and type 9, 5 speed gearbox, it pulls very very well and the gearbox is silky smooth, and has an unleaded cylinder head from the factory,

i bought the car 3 months ago to be my retro daily runner, but have since bought an even more retro Cortina that is more me, so the Sierra is for sale,

i purchased the car form an elderly gentleman in his late 70s who had owned the car for nearly 20 years (he bought it from the first owners, husband and the second was the wife of the first owner), it was used for around 3 or 4 years and then he stored it in a dry heated garage with his collection of vintage motor bikes and a Ford Anglia, it was stored for about 16 years, but moved and driven around his large property at least twice a year while being stored,

i bought the car and have done a huge amount of work to see it fit for the road, it was still running on the original Michelin tyres when i bought it,

it has had,
4 brand new toyo tyres,
A brand new Starter motor,
A battery,
A full exhaust system,
A new clutch kit,
a brand new weber 28/30 twin weber carb, £400!
a brand new camshaft kit, valve stem oil seals, and cambelt kit, this meant removing the head so all the gaskets have been done INC the head gasket,
New plugs, oil, filter, coolant, fuel filter, air filter and leads,
brand new rear wheel brake cylinders and shoes
wiper blades,
and an MOT that it passed with ease after all the above work was done, and everything else checked,

the interior is MINT! everything works INC the original radio and cassette player with 6 factory speakers balance control joy stick and it sounds great, dig out your cassette tape collection! it also has a very good heater and is very very comfortable, easy to drive, light positive steering and brakes, its nice and tight on the suspension, no whines or clonks from any of the drivetrain,

The fuel gauge works but only when its up to 1/4 full, anything over that and the gauge is a little erratic, i assume its the contact on the sender unit due to being idle for so long, but the fuel tank is spotless inside and the gauge does work when filled up to 1/4 of a tank, the temp gauge always sits just under half when warmed up, and never budges

the sunroof it totally rust free, and works perfectly,
the bodywork is really very good, especially for 37 years old, it has a couple of marks but nothing drastic, its exceptional for its age,
all the doors are rust free, the rear arches are mint and have no filler or repairs, the underside of the car is very very clean and rock solid, i can only find one bit of MOT welding repair on the end of the right hand rear sill at the very back, but it is solid, was done over 10 years ago, and would not be difficult to put back to factory finish, there is one small bit of corrosion at the very end of the left rear sill lip but wasn't enough to fail on the mot, the rest of the entire car is rust free and as it was when it left the factory, it really is very very clean and rust free on the underside,

there isn't a great deal of paperwork due to the elderly owner prior to me miss placing it, but i do have some old MOTs, the original log book showing the first owners, and the current V5 in my name
i have done around 500 miles in it since getting it back on the road without any issues and it drives great, the mileage may go up slightly as i still use the car Cant wait to use as my everyday car.
