“The Lies In Your Eyes” was released in January 1976 and was the second single from the “Give Us A Wink” album. This was the first album to be completely written and produced by the band members, marking a departure from the Chinnichap era. The single charted in the top 10 in Germany, Netherlands and Scandinavia but only reached no 35 in the UK. Completing the move to a hard rock style, the production includes Queen-like elements which were deliberately included to reflect a campaign by the music media at the time to set the two bands off against each other.
