Fred announces to the world that he’s pregnant, no doubt disturbing the entire population of Bedrock in the process as The Flintstones draws to a close.

Following this is a bumper for Fat Dog Mendoza, a disturbing little animated series that I’m sure you were all too happy to forget.

The usual parade of the insane businessman, Pantene and Barbie Please Just Leave Me Alone adverts persist until we come to a slightly more serious advert for The Powerpuff Girls, featuring some of the show’s most violent moments. I mean, jeez - just look at that monster get a shard through the neck. This is why this show worked. It was violent enough to have that male appeal, and the characters didn’t talk about “sharing” and “kindness” all the time.

After that, we get an advert for Ed, Edd n Eddy, plumbing the depths of Plank, one of animation’s best kept mysteries. Is he alive or isn’t he? The world may never know.

The Cartoon Network logo has a game of bowling in another bumper. Then, because I can’t resist, I had to include the intro for Fat Dog Mendoza, just to show you how much of a freaky acid trip this show was. I’m pretty sure I’m one of the seven people who actually watched it. Pray for my sanity.
