Is Outcast Robert Kirkman's biggest disappointment?

Outcast by Robert Kirkman & Paul Azaceta could have been something special. Debuting from Image Comics in 2014, with a TV show already scheduled, this looked to be the next Walking Dead... but why didn't it succeed?
