Mark’s story with us spans almost two decades beginning with his very first play, Stories for Amah, in 2002 which enjoyed a re-staging last year.

Since then, Mark has brought us many plays that perfectly capture life in Malaysia which is why his works are so endearing and well-loved. His plays include Bottom Top (2008), Oh My God! (2008), 8 Ways to Lighten the School Bag (2008), Adam The Musical (2010), and Sisa Sisa (2016). Most recently, he wrote and acted in Men in Heels (2018) which received standing ovations.

His Hokkien play Big Head & Potato Head (2010) won Best Original Script & Best Play at the ADA Drama Awards while Sisa Sisa won Best Script at the BOH Cameronian Arts Awards. His works have been shown in Singapore, Russia, Korea and the USA.

Mark is also highly passionate about nurturing the next generation. He was a facilitator and syllabus developer at The Actors Studio Academy @ klpac and still leads klpac’s Theatre for Young People (T4YP) programme which just completed T4YP Emergence 2020: Love and Loss. Mark is also a Senior Lecturer at Taylor’s University and TUTAS, Malaysia’s first conservatory degree programme for the performing arts.

He was named The Edge Inspiring Young Leaders Awards 2019.
